  • GCSE Results 2019

Staff and Governors extend their congratulations to the Year 11 students who received their examination results on the 22 August.

We are delighted to report particularly strong academic results this year.

Over 85% of year 11 students achieved a 4 (standard pass) or above at GCSE in both Mathematics and English. In Mathematics, the proportion of our students gaining a strong pass (Level 5 and above) was above 60% representing a rising trend. In English, close to half our Year 11 students gained the top 7-9 grades, with 87% gaining a grade 5 or higher.

Across the wider curriculum there were similar successes. The % of grades at 9-4 is above 85% and the % at 9-5 is at almost 70%. Close to 30% of the grades achieved were a grade 7 or above.

Congratulations go to all our students for their hard work and achievement, and we take this opportunity to recognise the care and support given to them by parents, carers and the adults in the school, in achieving such great success.

‘When you are at school you do not realise what an impact your education will have on your life and the places it will take you.  St Bernard’s was a big part of my foundations.  If you have strong solid foundations, you can build anything you want, knock it down and re-build something new if you desire.  However, without good foundations, you will not build anything at all.’
