Whole School Literacy Strategy

Our whole school literacy strategy is centred around the following principles:

1. Students develop a love of reading, recognising its positive impact on wellbeing and personal growth.

2. Students’ oral communication is confident and fluent in a range of settings for a range of purposes, enabling them to express themselves and use their voice powerfully.

3. Students read confidently at an age-appropriate level across the curriculum, using a range of strategies to decode texts and interpret meaning.

4. Students write fluently in all subjects, deploying accurate grammar, structure, spelling and vocabulary to meet the requirements of the task.
